Deal or No Deal?

Its high time Manmohan Singh Govt decides something on this issue. In fact i am really bored reading the same stuff again and again daily. Each time this issue rakes up, it goes something like this

14. BJP says that the agreement is not in its favour in the current form and it might consider supporting if the agreement is changed.

17. Fear of imminent elections, loss in state assembly elections cause section of Congress leaders to talk to high command about holding back the N Deal.
18. Manmohan the architect of the deal is hurt and declares to resign if the deal fails.

The result is that the Indian junta is getting the political entertainment it deserved.

The country's prospects and future seems to be in the hands of 2 people Prakash Karat and Sitaram Yechury.

On the other hand, Manmohan Singh's efforts at securing the country's much needed future energy needs is almost certainly not going to happen.

The saddest part is that the BJP govt inspite of pioneering the bolstering of relationship between India and US, is in defiance of the deal just for the sake of it inspite of Manmohan having clarified that country's indigenous interests will not be put at risk. My personal opinion is that, we have to start trusting our top leaders. Manmohan was the architect of the new India economy during the Narsimha Rao regime. He is infact the most qualified prime Minister India has ever had. Let us put all our trust on this able and effecient leader. Even the much revered former President - Abdul Kalam has come out strongly in support of the deal (which btw was v much embarassing to the BJP). So it is high time that India becomes matured enough to start respecting the decision of a person whom it has made as the leader.

Hung Assembly

I pray to God that there might not be a hung assembly in Karnataka. Whatever it is, Gowda should not get a chance to play dirty games like last time. With this prayer, I am done for the day.

Congress Sycophants

I dont understand why do congress people suck up so much to Sonia Gandhi? Her only qualification was being Rajiv Gandhi's wife. Neither she is a highly educated economist nor a political science expert. Yesterday CNN-IBN carried a news article on a guy who has been arrested for allegedly posting some vulgar comments on Orkut. First off, i dont understand how so jobless congress workers have been to track the postings on Orkut communities and going ahead to make police complaints. I also dont understand how Congress or its party head would be affected by that guys comments. Now the great Indian cyber police force took the complaint seriously, and allocated resources (some jobless police personnel) to investigate into the matter. They tracked down the IP address of the cyber cafe using Google's help and probed around. finally they managed to catch hold of the guy. Pray, How serious was that crime that Indian police decide to take so much trouble? If the comments were about a commoner would the law take its course? Why was it so important to catch hold of and torture harmless guy posting some random comments? When the police themselves use the most vulgar language anyone could possibly imagine, how are they entitled to enforce any law related to public decency?

Its kind of known that terrorists are using the internet world for planning and executing terror attacks. What has the so called Cyber Police been doing about it? Just hours after the jaipur attacks, there was a mail from a cyber cafe in UP claiming to have carried out the attacks. Well National Security isnt as much an important issue as licking the feet of Congress High Command. God knows when they will become sane. God knows when they will stop being sycophants.

Today's activities

Today me, my roomie Arvind (the idiot), Maddy and Anant had gone to Nalapak for lunch. Nalapak is one of the nicest veggie hotels in Minneapolis. After a long time I had the opportunity to devour authentic south Indian lunch. I was craving for it.

Sitting in the hotel with my friends, suddenly my mind went into a flashback mode :

Flash back to Philips era - I used to drive daily to Ulsoor. Me and my dad on my good old splendor. I used to drop him off daily at his bank, have a munch at Amrit Darshini on St Marks Road and rush to my office. The Idlis there just melted in the mouth like butter. With a fine blending of spicy Sambhar or Chutney, the hot steaming idli used to give an out of the world experience.

Flashback to PESIT - Me and my gang sitting at Vidyarthi Bhavan gossipping about all the people in the college, pulling each other's legs and planning our regular trips. Vidyarthi Bhavan's Masal dose is "Avarnaneeya" - one that cannot be described. It just has to be experienced. It is still a puzzle to me as to how the dosa there is kind of thick, but still so soft on the inner side and crispy on the outer side. aaah! the red color dosa with an inner filling of Potato curry and the white coconut chutney - just exotic.

It was a weird feeling that the stuff which not so long back were mundane, are now delicacy and rare.

After I came back from lunch, I viewed my grades. It was a happy news! I got an A grade in Adv Algorithms course. Thanks to my good final exams, I could go past the required 95%, by just a whisker.

Then i slept like a log for 4 hrs. As usual, my sleep was filled with weird dreams. I was dreaming about having a fight with Nalapak waiter for delaying our lunch by 3 hrs and making us miss the bus and suddenly me and Ashwini Ranganath (My High school friend with whom i was out of touch for 7 yrs) , had taken the same course (adv comp Architecture) and were discussing about our grades. I woke up with quite a heavy head. Started planning for my internship packing. Realised that i dint have much clean clothes to take there.

OMG! I just remembered that whatever clothes i had left in the washing machine in the basement are actually still lying there only. They have been there since 4 hrs. I forgot to put them to drier and take them back.

First Post

Hi..

Its 1 56 AM on May 19th 2008 here in Minneapolis. And finally the auspicious moment has come. I have been thinking for quite sometime now to create my blog. I actually already had 1. But it was lame and i never posted there, nor anyone would reply. So i thought I would create a new blog and post regularly. Most ppl interested in blogging start off with the great ambitions. They create blogs, post the links everywhere, start writing with great enthu and sound very hip!. Finally after a few days all their enthu vanishes into thin air. So the key is to not have the great initial enthu, ambition and maintain a sustained interest. I hope i would be able to do so. But that might also depend on how many ppl actually would read my blogs.

Mainly the motivation came from Amitabh Bachchan. I read Amitabh's blogs almost daily. I wondered, if a non technical guy like him can do it, i should do it too. May be these movie stars might create blogs to hit out at Anbumani Ramadoss (beloved health minister) or to call each other dogs. I just want to rant about general stuff. Me, my life, my friends, political tamasha, religion (cmon guys, i find them interesting), music, movies.

The day before algos final exams, I was day dreaming a lot about my blog instead of studying. Then i discussed with Santu about it. But it actually took me 2 days to create it in the first place. So I am a little bit skeptical about myself.

It took me 2 days to come up with a lame name for my blog. I had asked Santu, but he told we could keep any name and change it later. He pinged me today reminding me about my plans. Maybe if Santu had not asked today, I would have taken more time or eventually dropped the idea as well, who knows.

The thing is there have been a lot of instances in the past where i started off stuff amazing well, but never executed it with the same vigor or finished it to completion with utmost satisfaction. That is 1 quality that I hate about myself . And I want to change that. Maybe I could use this as a platform to develop in myself a quality to do some work with sustained interest and motivation without decrease in quality/performance. Lets see how far i can go about it. Maybe thats my whole motivation.

Its 2 30 AM currently. I am going to crash now.
